Issued anonymously, this collects a
series of advertisements by White with his
accompanying photographs that ran in The
New Yorker. An in-house production of an
unknown limitation, very likely a small print
run reserved for agents and preferred customers.
“These Sterling Finney advertisements were
written by me.They ran in the magazine in the
early years when it was trying to promote its
circulation. I posed the dummies—figures I
found in Wanamaker’s department store”
(White, quoted in Hall). Rare, with no copies
appearing at auction in over three decades.Hall A1.
