Dalí’s printed masterpiece, for which he had all of Goya’s etchings with aquatint from the
circa 1799 seminal
Los Caprichos
series reproduced as heliogravures and reworked each of
the heliogravure plates with Surrealist drypoint additions which were subsequently
embellished with stencil coloring. Extremely scarce as a complete
set.Wehave found only
21 other complete sets at auction in the past 30 years.
