We have found only 3 other impressions at auction in the past 30 years.

A celebrated painter and draughtsman during the French Empire, he was the Empress

Joséphine’s personal drawing instructor. Prud’hon (1758-1823) executed only a handful of

prints; fewer than a dozen etchings and lithographs have been attributed to him. Beraldi 2.
