Pulitzer Prize winner, Ron Reisterer was for 50 years the staff photographer for the Oakland Tribune.
He was perfectly positioned to record the Panthers development, covering their trials and tribulations.
Their acceptance and trust of him gave him opportunities that other press photographers did not have.
Images include: Kathleen Cleaver; William Lee Brent at a Panther rally (April 1968); Marlon
Brando at the rally (also 1968); Free Huey rally, July 16, 1968; Bobby Seale and others at a Panther
Press Conference in front of 1218 28th Street, Oakland, site of Bobby Hutton shooting, (April 12,
1968); and Bobby Hutton with shotgun outside Oakland Police Department, (May 22, 1967.)
