XII), each containing approximately 100 4-page issues. 4to, unmatched contemporary

bindings in calf and vellum, various conditions; most with title pages and indexes.

The first daily newspaper in Mexico, founded by independence advocate Carlos Bustamante. It

continued publication through 1817. “Rare, even in Mexico, as in the troubles and revolutions

that supervened, many of the copies were destroyed”—Sabin 48424. Medina, México 9784;

First Mexican edition, after the 1799 Madrid first edition. A Spanish-English grammar and

vocabulary, mostly in Spanish but still unusual to find from a Mexican press (see lot 405).
