contemporary vellum, minor wear; minimal dampstaining, repaired closed tear on leaf Vv2,
final page laid down on free endpaper, with erased inked library stamp in margin; 3-page
manuscript document dated 1729 and signed by Peralta laid down on front pastedown.

First and only edition of a history of ancient Spain through the early Christian era. The copi-
ous illustrations are unusual for a colonial Lima imprint. Medina, Lima 854 (calls for 37
preliminary leaves); Palau 218086, Sabin 60849 (both collate correctly).
