The first press in Córdoba preceded Buenos Aires by several years. It was founded by German
Jesuit Pablo Karrer at the Colegio de Monserrat in 1765, who printed only five books before
the Jesuit expulsion terminated the enterprise. This edition of a classic 1610 Jesuit prayer
manual is one of the scarcest products of this ephemeral press.
See Woodbridge, Printing in Colonial Spanish America, pages 60-62; Furlong, Córdoba 3.
Not among the 3 early Córdoba imprints listed in Medina, Río de la Plata; not in Palau; not
in OCLC. No appearances at auction since 1968.
