Hudgins, hoping that his encounter with Dr. Blank is “not as violent” as his own was, stat-
ing that director John Ford had already flown from Rome when he arrived, reporting that
he received a letter that morning from director Sam Zimbalist, agreeing to meet in Rome
for the trip to Nairobi [to shoot scenes for
Mogambo
] unless “you have to look after Ava,”
and asking that he bring Chesterfield cigarettes. 1 page, 4to, “Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer” sta-
tionery, onion skin paper; moderate feathering to signature and inscription, faint scattered
dampstaining, cello tape at top and bottom edges, 3 punch-holes in right margin, folds.
