Two creases near lower right corner with small chip at same corner outside rules, overall
mild age-toning. Matted. Provenance: gifted by Rockwell to Hazel Dell-Brown,
Armstrong Cork Company Art Director, subsequently gifted by Dell-Brown to fellow
employee J.C. McCarthy, thence by descent to family.

Unrecorded pencil sketch. Likely a rejected composition for an advertisement for the Armstrong Cork
Company in Lancaster, PA.The signature is accomplished in a different (color and weight) pencil
from the drawing, and it is surmised that rather than a forgery it was added simply for identification
purposes at an early date.
