Diary entitled “Trip Around LakeWinnipesaukee,
July 25, 1913,” with 70 handwritten pages
containing more than 120 photomechanical
postcards and photographs, with a few real photo
postcards, illustrating the writer’s (a young
woman) diaristic entries of her New Hampshire
trip. (The woman traveled with her parents and
grandparents.) The trip apparently lasted several
months as some of the photographs are snow-
covered winter scenes. Silver prints, various sizes,
to 3 inches (7.6 cm.) square, including a collage
of the 5 family members. Thick 4to, marbled

Album-cum-scrapbook containing more than 200 photographs of Mr. and Mrs. Elliot Gandy and
Miss Elsa Dietz (all of Galena, Kansas) on a 23-day-long car trip to California, which is chock-a-
block with maps, postcards, printed matter, tickets, and other colorful ephemeral items artfully placed
alongside recreational snapshots.They departed from Kansas (where they visited Dodge City), drove
to Colorado Springs (and Pikes Peak, Garden of the Gods, and Royal Gorge), drove on to Denver
(Estes Park, Rocky Mountains), then landed in Utah (Salt Lake City), and concluded the trip in
California (Yosemite, San Francisco, Monterey, Glendale, Santa Catalina and Hollywood) and
returned via Arizona (the Grand Canyon), and New Mexico (Painted Desert). In addition to
picturesque landscapes, the group enjoyed photographing animals and visited the Alligator Farm,
Monkey Island, and Ostrich Farm. Silver prints, 4x2
