These prints were included in an exhibition at the Christine Burgin Gallery in
1987. Each frame with a DonaldYoung Gallery, Chicago label on verso.
After moving to NewYork in 1978,Welling began to photograph aluminum foil,
drapery velvet scattered with pastry dough, ink infused gelatin, and plastic tiles.
Each series of photographs was exhibited in one-person shows at Metro Pictures.
In this triptych, reimagined negatives from the pastry dough on drapery series were
printed in black and red instead of the original black and white silver gelatin.
