creases in image.
A tribute to Mayakaovsky, the great poet of the revolution, futurist and inspiration for the Russian
avant-garde artistic community, upon his death at his own hand. Beneath one of his famous revolu-
tionary maxims, “to offer all my sonorous powers of a poet to you, the attacking class,” the image is a
collage of clippings, photos and posters of art work, appearances and events relating to Mayakovsky.
Although unsigned the work could be that of Varvara Stepanova.
