After ten years away from the stage, Josephine Baker returned to the limelight of Paris for her show at
the renowned
Olympia
theatre. Many changes had occurred over the intervening decade; Josephine
was no longer young, Art Deco was no longer the prevailing artistic style and photography was begin-
ning to dominate the world of cabaret advertising. The singer and dancer herself, however, was still a
star. The show ran successfully for almost a year.
