49 48 48  PIERRE-AUGUSTE RENOIR and RICHARD GUINO La Petite Laveuse . Bronze, 1916. 330 mm; 12 3 / 4 inches (height). With the artist’s name, lower right. Cast by Alexis Rudier Foundry, Paris, with the stamp on the base verso. Published by Vollard, Paris. The smaller version of Renoir’s (1841-1919) bronze La Laveuse , executed by Richard Guino (1890-1973) under the direction of Renoir and published by Ambroise Vollard with no cast number. In his seventies at the time, Renoir chose figures from existing paintings and drawings and made working sketches which were interpreted by Guino in plaster and cast in bronze, all under Renoir’s supervision.
