Published in Kolb and Cassou, Jacob Loutchansky Sculptures , Hakibutz Hameuchad, 1957 (another cast illustrated); Gamzo, The Art of Sculpting in Israel , Tel Aviv, 1957 (another cast illustrated). Loutchansky (1876-1978) was born in present day Ukraine and studied art in Odessa, Russia, in the late 1890s, and in 1903 at the École des Beaux Arts, Paris. He worked in New York during the early 1930s and from 1949 onward, he lived in Kibbutz Givat Brenner, Israel, where he died in 1978. [1,500/2,500]
