La Brède, 20 May 1744 [3,000/4,000] “I believe, my daughter, that I will soon have the opportunity to bring you back to me and that a very respectable Lady will be happy to take care of you during your trip; you will make a bundle of all your clothing and lingerie and you will come gaily to La Brede; you won’t find there the pleasures of Paris, but you will be very well received. I am not sending a letter for Mme the Abbess because I have written one that will only be delivered in case it is possible for you to leave. Adieu my dear daughter. I am very impatient to see you and I kiss you with all my heart.”
