Hollywood, CA, 4 May [1969]. [400/600] A handbill for a “public discussion of homosexuality in regards to church, city, law and society” asking questions such as “Should the police protect property or morals?” and “Are bar raids necessary?” The speakers included longtime activist W. Dorr Legg, a founder of ONE, Inc.; and two clergymen from the Southern California Counsel of Religion and the Homophile. The flier is undated, but another speaker, Paul Lamport, only served on the city council from 1965 to 1969, and the sponsors, the Hollywood Citizen-News, went out of business in 1970. 103 104
