The first four, to her mother Elizabeth Chappell Barnes, asking after siblings, requesting news, giving travel plans, etc. The last, to M.E. Fitzgerald, praising the weather and inquiring about a gift. Verso of each shows a photograph of Berlin, Nice, London, or Tarrytown in NY. Each 1 page, oblong 12mo; scattered chipping to edges, minor loss to corners of two postcards. Vp, 1918-45 [from postmarks]. [600/900] Tarrytown, 23 October 1915: “Here on Helen Gould story . . . . How is Kid brother one, two & three? You might write!” Berlin, 25 September 1921: “Walk through here every day—on our way to lunch etc. . . . [verso shows view of Brandenburger Tor].” London, 24April 1924, to Fitzgerald: “Have been here a week—glorious weather. Got the Duchess & . . . 70 Dukes & Princes! Have you read the little gift?” Nice, nd, unsigned: “Why don’t you write? I am worried when you don’t—Can’t you imagine this? These are pictures of some of the Carnival feats . . . .
