[6,000/9,000] In this haunting print, the artist’s first limited edition, Glenn Ligon quotes from Ralph Ellison’s seminal 1952 novel Invisible Man . This significant aquatint is from a set that included two printed on black paper, two on white paper with quotations from Zora Neale Hurston and Ellison. The set is in numerous institutional collections including the Metropolitan Museum of Art, the Museum of Modern Art, the Museum of Contemporary Art Chicago, the Princeton University Art Museum and the Whitney Museum of American Art. The edition also included 10 artist’s proofs.
