(Venice: House of Aldus and Andrea of Asola, July 1521) [1,000/2,000] Third Aldine edition of the Canzoniere after the first Aldine of 1501. From the libraries of Ambroise Firmin-Didot, with his bookplate (lot 350 in his sale, 10-14 June 1884) and Louis-Alexandre Barbet (lot 409 in his sale, 7-10 November 1932), described in both their auction catalogues as having belonged to Charles I of England. 217 c   PETRARCA, FRANCESCO.
