Extensive accordion-folding color-woodblock printed road map of Japan on 17 sheets joined with one small paper overlay pasted on. 7 1 / 2 x347 inches overall (approximately 29 feet), folding into blue self-wrappers with printed paper title-label on upper cover, light wear; in general quite nice. Tokyo, Bunka 1 (1804) [2,500/3,500] An incredible panoramic diagram of the roadways, waterways, cities, towns and topography of the entire island chain of Japan. The map spans from Hokkaido to Korea and includes the Tokaido Road, connecting Tokyo and Kyoto. Inset maps of Tokyo and Japan are found at the terminal edge as well as other details including a trading vessel between Japan and Korea.
