362 c   (CYANOTYPES— FURNITURE) A salesman’s presentation album with over 130 montaged cyanotype pages of furniture on offer from the William A. Berkey Company. From simple side tables and delicate dining chairs, to large, glass-fronted armoirs and deco dressers, the album represents the inventory and designs available for purchase. Numerous pieces and styles appear to greatly influence the later mid-century modern movement. Cyanotypes (134), the pages measuring approximately 11x9 inches (27.9x22.9 cm.), printed recto only, each with as many as six designs presented in a grid, and each with a inventory/style number in the negative. 4to, brown leatherette with a gilt- lettered title; quadruple-bolt binding. 1910s [1,200/1,800] 362 363 c   (BILLBOARD & SIGN-PAINTING) Archive with approximately 65 photographs depicting billboards painted by Frank Poppy for the Raritan Arsenal Co., Metuchen, New Jersey, over a period of approximately 20 years. Each billboard addresses the “Raritan Team” with a slogan promoting different aspects of safety in the workplace such as “Accidents never Take a Vacation,” “Drive As If Your Life Depended Upon It—Because It Does,” and “Death is So Permanent.” Other billboards advertise War Bonds, and include slogans like “Hear-O-Hito You’re Next.” Nearly all the billboards are signed by Poppy either within the painting or on a plaque mounted to the framework.
