334 c   (NEW YORK AT NIGHT) A fine collection with 26 striking photographs depicting New York City at night, with luminous skylines and glistening views of the city from above. Featuring scenes of the Avenues as viewed from skyscrapers, with the trailing lights of automobiles, and numerous views of the iconic skyline from a distance, each showing buildings with hundreds of glinting windows. Silver prints, the images measuring approximately 8x10 inches (20.3x25.4 cm.), and the reverse, many with various inventory numbers in the negative, and a few with captions, in pencil, ink or typed, on verso. 1940s-50s [1,200/1,800] 335    (SAN FRANCISCO—CHINATOWN) Small suite of 5 boudoir cards by the Schoene studio depicting San Francisco Chinatown and its environs. With street scenes including signage; an image of a Chinese woman peering out of a small “crib” or room; and a group photograph of Lepers, taken at the “pest house.” Albumen prints, the images measuring 4 3 / 4 x8 inches (12x20.4 cm.), the mounts slightly larger, with Schoene’s imprint on mount recto, and all but one with period German notations, in ink, on verso. 1880s [800/1,200] 334 335
