Woman’s charm bracelet featuring inset tintype portraits of 3 Union generals. 3 1-inch gutta-percha buttons with small inset tintypes, and 5 smaller similar buttons, strung together into a bracelet 3 1 / 2 inches across; minimal wear. Np,circa 1862-63? [400/600] The 3 generals are Nathaniel Banks, Franz Sigel, and George McClellan; we would guess this dates from fairly early in the war, but after Sigel’s promo- tion to Major General in 1862. with —a similar portrait of General Ambrose Burnside in a similar but slightly larger button, not strung together with the others.
