65 c (PHOTOGRAPHY.) Buttre-Momberger 1865 engraving of Lincoln, with a tintype copy. Engraving, 15 1 / 2 x 10 3 / 4 inches; mat toning, minor foxing. Tintype photograph, 8 1 / 4 x 6 1 / 4 inches; moderate wear including light crease through Lincoln’s chin with slight loss, tape remnants on verso. Np, circa 1865 [250/350] The print is reversed in the tintype image, and might easily be mistaken for an original photograph of Lincoln but for the hatch marks in his clothing. Part of Momberger’s decorative border can also be seen in the margins, though the caption is not visible. See lot 126 for the original print. 65 66 66 c (PHOTOGRAPHY.) Composite photograph of the signers of the 13th Amendment, which banned slavery. Composite oval albumen photograph, 8 x 7 inches, credited in negative, on the original tinted 13 1 / 2 x 10 1 / 2 -inch mount; mat toning, staining in margins, mount remnants on verso. New York: Powell and Co., 1865 [400/600] Depicts the congressmen who voted in favor of the 13th Amendment to the Constitution, as well as Lincoln and Hamlin. With a photocopy of the accompanying key, “Anti-Slavery Constitutional Amendment Picture.”
