[New York], 2 June [1962] [300/400] Loretta Mary Aiken (1894-1975), who performed as Jackie “Moms” Mabley, was one of the most popular African-American standup comedians of her day. NewYork, copyright 1971 [500/750] This striking poster depicts Sojourner Truth with part of her famous “Ain’t I a Woman” speech— undoubtedly intended to speak to both the civil rights and feminist movements of the day.Another variant exists in brown and orange, printed by New Victoria Printers of New Hampshire.
