16 c (BRAZIL) W. G. Gaensly (1843- 1928); G. Leuzinger (1813-1892) Folio entitled Ansichten von Amazonenstrom, with 45 photographs by Leuzinger and Gaensly throughout Bahia. Comprising 30 “Vues de Bahia” by Wilhelm Guilherme Gaensly, 10 prints by Georges Leuzinger of Rio Negro and flora and fauna in the Amazon, a small two-part panorama by Schleier, and 5 miscellaneous uncredited views. Albumen prints, the images measuring 5x8 to 9 1 / 4 x7 1 / 4 inches (12.7x20.3 to 18.4 cm.), the mounts measuring 8 1 / 4 x10 1 / 2 to 16 1 / 2 x12 3 / 4 inches (21x26.7 to 41.9x32.4 cm.). Gaensly’s photographs on the original two-toned mounts with his printed title, credit and Kummler’s handwritten notations, in ink; Leuzinger’s with printed titles/ locations, plate number, credit, mention of awards, a “Photographie d’apres nature par A. Frisch” credit, and Kummler’s hand stamp on mounts recto.
