344 c   (TEXACO) A fascinating mini-archive of approximately 70 photographs depicting the Texaco plant and its employees. Comprised of photographs of oil drums and other petroleum products, employees at work taking inventory, advertising shots, and the environs of an oil field and refinery. Silver prints, the images measuring 9 1 / 4 x7 1 / 2 inches (23.5x19.1 cm.), and smaller, and the reverse, the sheets 10 7 / 8 x8 1 / 4 inches (27.6x21 cm.), most with a numeric and date notation, in the negative, and with notations in pencil, on recto. Circa 1939-43 [1,500/2,500] 345 c   (IRON FIREMAN MFG CO.) A presentation album containing 19 photographs pertaining to the headquarters and factory of the Iron Fireman Manufacturing Company in Portland, Oregon. With sharp photographs showing men working machines and lathes, a higher up (presumably the CEO or head engineer) in his office, interior/exterior views of the company buildings, and examples of equipment manufactured by the company. Silver prints, the images measuring 8x10 inches (20.3x25.4 cm.), linen-backed and mounted recto only, most with the renowned Oregon photographer Arthur M. Prentiss’ studio hand stamp on verso. 4to, black leatherette; twin-bolt binding. 1930s [700/1,000] 346 c   (SCOFIELD ENGINEERING CONSTRUCTION CO.) An archive with approximately 245 photographs documenting various stages of commercial construction projects undertaken by the company. Covering a range of locations, but most apparently in Los Angeles, including: interior and exterior scenes of Sears Roebuck and Co. buildings, the Star Truck warehouse, United Artists building, hotels including the Biltmore, banks, offices, schooling buildings, and industrial spaces; a number of chronological construction views with before and after shots; various building facades; and a large 2-part panorama depicting a cleared building foundation.
