23, 1934. A very good impression of this

exceedingly scarce, early engraving.

We have found only one other impression

at auction the past 30 years.

According to the British Museum, there are

three states of this print.This is the first state

with the date “1533” on the rock and the

monogram“AV”on the tablet lower center.

The second state is monogrammed and

dated “1533” on the rock as well inscribed

“Ant. Sal. exc.” lower center.The third state

is only monogrammed on the tablet with

the name of the publisher, Salamanca,

erased. Bartsch 316.
