This lithograph was produced by Bearden to support the 1973 production of Ed Bullin’s
House
Party: A Soulful Happening
at the American Place Theater in New York. Bearden would go on to
create the “visual environment” for the play and Ed Bullins served as the Playwright-in-Residence
at the American Place Theatre in 1973. An unnumbered and untitled impression is illustrated in
Mary Lee Corlett’s
