This soldier wears a vest and tie under a mili-
tary jacket with shield eagle buttons and the
three blue chevrons of an infantry sergeant,
indicating that he is likely a member of the
24th Infantry, which is known to have passed
through Fort Robinson in Crawford, Nebraska
several times in the 1890’s.
