AN EXCEEDINGLY RARE FULL SHEET OF
ONE HUNDRED SCOTTSBORO BOYS
DEFENSE FUND STAMPS
.
These were printed
up by the “Scottsboro New Trial Emergency
Fund,” a part of the International Labor
Defense Fund, the legal arm of the American
Communist Party. Stamps like this were sold
for a penny each, or one dollar for a full sheet.
Like Christmas Seal stamps, one would add
them to letters, bills and whatever one sent
through the post office. This had the dual effect
of raising money and raising awareness.
