ARTIST COLLABORATIONS
Each book in this section represents one artist working with another: a poet and
a photographer, a novelist and a photographer, a husband and a wife. The
blending of artistic formats enhances the book while allowing for new and
alternative interpretations of content. This kind of collaborative effort, one that
is seen throughout Diodato’s library, has resulted in some of the most iconic
publications in the marketplace.
Each book also conveys a conversation between image maker and viewer, a
relationship that Bill Diodato, as a collector and a photographer, found particularly
potent. Didactic, intrinsic to the medium, and easily-sharable, the photo book’s
core elements—curated sequencing , rich design, and specially-chosen materials—
unite to create unique objects with lasting force and purpose, each contributing
to the rich and diverse of the photographic medium.
