Original oil and canvas on board illustrations of the helpful gnome and a young brother
and sister, for his Tiny Tawker calendar of 1955-56. Each 508x609 mm; 20x24 inches,
mounted to board, one Signed, lower right. Colors bright and fresh with very minor sur-
face rubbing.

American illustrator, author, and art instructor Loomis, best known for his popular “how-to” books, cre-
ated a series of calendars for Brown & Bigelow in the 1950s. In them, a gnome named Tiny Tawker
led children through a series of adventures or instruction aimed at teaching them good social and per-
sonal habits.
