Campell-Ewald stamp with manuscript description, title and magazine date in pencil, and
paper and glue remnants.

A wonderful wartime image by famed pin-up artist Petty. An original 2-page centerfold is included in
the lot and shows the difference between the final printed image and the original artwork: the final
design with the doll seated, not standing, her finger under his elbow and his foot by her cuff, the puppet’s
hat insignia is Navy (changed from Air Force wings in the original), and the small watercolor abstract
ship with steam in the background is not present.The original also has mounted corrected overlays on
her sleeve and shoulder insignia, and puppet figure.
