[COCKTAILS.] Group of 4 posters. Circa 1946.
Each approximately 18x12 inches, 45x30 cm. Kelly-Read & Co., Rochester, N.Y.
Condition varies, generally B+ / A-: abrasions in margins and image; creases at edges. Printed on card.
An
EXCEPTIONAL
assortment of thirst-inducing, Art Deco advertising cards promoting various
cocktails. From a “Dining Guide” series, they were produced by the same company who designed the
Think America Institute
series during World War II. Some of these cocktail posters are also designed
by C.R. Miller. In dating them we refer to pencil marking on the backs of some which indicate the
week in which they were intended to be posted. However, we have also found a copyright record in
the Library of Congress archives from 1934, suggesting that they might be from the previous decade.
