A group of 200 mugshots depicting men picked up in Philadelphia for a range of offences, many for minor gambling crimes, as well as some for theft, narcotics, assault, and even murder.
The men ranging in age from their early 20s to their late 50s, many staring blankly into the camera. Silver prints, the images measuring 3½x4½ inches (8.9x11.4 cm.), nearly all with a "Criminal Identification Unit Police Department Phila., Penn." hand stamp and the typed (a few handwritten in ink) subject's name, address, crime, and identifying characteristics, on verso (one is blank); in a contemporary binder. 1948-64
