An album documenting construction of the Amsterdam, New York Steam Station with approximately 40 photographs.
The series of precise and detailed images show the building rising with a steel beams, and also includes interior shots with workers and the massive equipment used to generate steam power. Amsterdam, developed on both sides of the Mohawk River, was then a major industrial and commercial center. Silver prints, the images measuring approximately 11½x7¾ inches (29.2x19.7 cm.), and the reverse, each with a date and numeric notation, and 6 with the location, in ink, on recto, and a couple with a caption, also in ink, or a credit from a local photographer, on verso; bound with a single two-pronged fastener and a tied cord. 1921
