The notorious Degenerate Art Exhibition, which was organized by Adolf Ziegler and the Nazi Party, opened in Munich on July 19, 1937 and was on display until November 30th. Subsequently the show traveled to other venues. The curated exhibition of paintings and sculpture featured 650 works, and was staged to demonstrate how modern artistic styles undermined the ideals of the Nazi Party.
