The photographs highlighting cows from the front, rear, and profile, some with their owners, and a few close-ups of udders, from state and county fairs, national dairy shows, livestock expositions, and auctions, many by animal photographers Robert Hildebrand, H.A. Strohmeyer, Carpenter, and others. Silver prints, the images measuring 5x2½ to 6¾x9½ inches (12.7x6.4 to 17.1x24.1 cm.), three mounted, more than half with the photographers' credits in the negative, and/or with the photographer's credit hand stamp, negative notation, captions, and/or various descriptive notations, including the cows' names, such as Mistress Thistle and Miss Rose of Grey Rock, in pencil, on verso or mount verso. 1910s-20s
