308 •(WOMEN'S INTERNATIONAL BOWLING CONGRESS)
A mini-archive including 46 colorful all-American photographs chronicling various women's teams and individual players at the WIBC Championships.
Displaying an empowering sense of pride and being, these images document, in strict typology, what has become the largest women's sporting event in the world, and in 1997 became the most entered team tournament in history, with 88,279 participants. While depicting the halcyon days of the W.I.B.C., beneath the cheery facade the images are rife with an eerie but ever-present sense of detachment and routine banality. Chromogenic (44) and pigment prints (2), the images mostly measuring 5x7 inches (12.7x17.8 cm.), with a few approximately 3½x5 inches (8.9x12.7 cm.), and slightly smaller; two sleeved in the original card mats. 1972-2004
