A narrative album by the Text Film Corp. entitled A Journey by Train: Subject 101, containing 60 professional photographs which chronicle the stages of an overnight train journey, with a focus on passenger comfort and railcar employees.
Beginning with scenes of a family purchasing tickets at the station and boarding the locomotive, followed by "in situ" portraits of the engine driver and luggage porters; also with interiors of the rail cars with luxurious sleeping quarters, bathrooms, and dining cars. With numerous behind-the-scenes images, including candid portraits of the crew, as they work in the kitchen, mailroom, and luggage compartment. Silver prints, the images measuring approximately 8x10 inches (20.3x25.4 cm.), each with a company credit and inventory number in the negative. Oblong 4to, black leatherette, gilt-stamped title and company name; spiral binding. 1930s
