Album with 44 photographs chronicling the construction of a Remington Company paper mill in the Black River region of Upstate New york.
Documenting the riverside construction from foundation to finish, with an emphasis on the team of workers, including one child laborer. There is also a portrait of Charles Clinch, the chief engineer for the construction project who is documented as having worked for the Remington Co. throughout the 1890s. Silver (42) and printing-out paper (2) prints, the images measuring 5x3 to 5½x7½ inches (12.7x7.6 to 14x8.9 cm.), mounted recto/verso to heavy pages, one with a caption beneath, in pencil. Oblong small 4to, black leatherette, quarter morocco. 1890s
