A Grand Tour album with 54 commercially-produced photographs from around the world that was compiled by Walter I. Pierce, of Chicago.
The album begins with many pictures of the Alhambra, and transitions to Grenada, Japan, Algeria, Egypt, Mt. Vesuvius, Ceylon, and multiple scenes of Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. Also includes picturesque rural scenes of trees that were apparently taken by Pierce himself. Albumen prints, the images measuring 5½x3½ inches (14x8.9 cm.), and the reverse, mounted recto only, with captions in the negative or Pierce's stylized notations, in pencil, on mount recto. Small 4to, ½ morocco, edgewear. 1880s
