246 •(EGYPT) A group of more than 95 photographs of picturesque views of Egypt and archeological sites, including 60 from an unidentified professional expedition and 30 other views, several of which were reproduced in Baedeker's Travel Guide.
Includes a pith-helmeted figure posing alongside colassal statues, tomb interiors with elaborate hieroglyphics, native translators, exterior views of the Sphinx and other antiquities, and more. Platinum (65) and sepia-toned silver prints (32), the platinum images measuring 5¼x3¾ inches (13.3x8.3 cm.), and the reverse, the mounts 10½x8¼ inches (26.7x21 cm.), several with handwritten captions on mount recto; the unmouted silver prints measuring 4¾x6½ inches (12x16.5 cm.), many with a caption and 13 with the credit of G.
