Album containing 40 photographs of industrial India, with a focus on the engineering and construction of several important bridges.
With views of the Sutlej Bridge in Ferozepore, Jumna Bridge in Kalip, and the Ganges Bridge in Benares, plus assorted picturesque views of the Taj Mahal, temples, and architectural landmarks. Also with a study of a courtesan with a hookah. Albumen (38) and platinum (2) prints, the images measuring 7¾x9½ inches (19.7x24.1 cm.), a few with handwritten captions on mount recto. Oblong small folio, patterned morocco, edgewear, lacks backstrip. 1880s
