Group of 25 contact prints of fashionably dressed ladies of the Belle Epoque at Longchamps and Auteuil, including photographs by Henri Meurisse (6) and Henri Manuel (3).
A remarkable set of images in which poised, upper-class women are depicted in similarly framed full body shots. Their clothing ensembles are presented as works of art themselves, focusing on the delicate details of handbags, fur trimmed coats, embroidered face veils, intricate hats, and more. Other credits include Keystone, Mondial, L.A.P.I., Interpress, Trampus, and France Presse. Silver prints, the images measuring 6¾x4¾ inches (17.1x12.1 cm.), and slightly smaller, most of the sheets slightly larger, each with a combination of photo agency hand stamps and typed captions and/or caption labels, on verso.
