337 •(SAN FRANCISCO EARTHQUAKE) A group of 25 photographs detailing the aftermath of the 1906 disaster, taken by a resident, including City Hall, piles of rubble, leaning buildings, and decimated blocks.
Detailing both residential buildings and city landmarks and including close ups as well as vast landscapes of ruined architecture with and without human figures (some of whom appear to be lining up for assistance, working, or out to see the devastation). Accompanied by a provenance letter. Silver prints, the images measuring 3¼ inches (8.3 cm.) square (18) and 2½x3¼ inches (7) (6.4x8.3 cm.), and the reverse. 1906
