Ornately designed and beautifully compiled album entitled My tour in Europe with over 250 photographs and ephemeral pieces documenting the military tour-cum-sightseeing trip of Sgt. Robert J. Wright.
Including numerous collaged elements such as tickets, meal cards, sick slips, paperwork, drawings, and clippings, mounted to embellished colorful pages with geometrically trimmed photographs, and drop shadows, with detailed and thoughtful captions. The album documents Wright's trip throughout europe with an enthusiastic focus on the landmarks, cities, and cultures that he encountered, including Switzerland, Paris, London, Brussels World's Fair, various performances, and more. The album ends with the Sergeant's term of enlistment and his return to the United States on New Year's Day. Silver (251) and chomogenic (2) prints, the images measuring approximately 1x1.5 to 10x8 inches (3.8x2.5 to 25.4x20.3 cm.), mounted recto/verso to gray pages, each page with numerous detailed captions and contextual information. 4to, red leatherette with debossed lettering; double-strap binding. 1958-59
