A vast presentation album containing 130 photographs of period buildings, storefronts, and parking lots, primarily highlighting the bold, graphic signage and "before and after" transformations of Californian businesses by the renowned company.
Through numerous skillfully composed photographs, the photographer has documented more than just the changes in signage on the building facades, they have captured a slice of Californian culture specific to this period. Many of the pages are arranged with a smaller "before" image, followed by a large photograph emphasizing the transformations made. Silver (77) and chromogenic (53) prints, the images measuring 3¼x5¼ to 10¼x13 inches (8.3x13.3 to 26x33 cm.), artfully arranged and mounted recto/verso to card pages.
